An international team of scientists from China, Australia, France, Spain and Germany has discovered an advanced ancient civilization in East Asia that existed 45,000 years ago. The results of the study are published in the journal Nature Ecology & Evolution.
Archaeologists studied the excavation site of the Shiyu site in China’s Shanxi province. They found traces of an Upper Paleolithic culture that existed 45,000 years ago, which possessed the technology of making blades, tips for throwing weapons, as well as the technique of transporting obsidian over long distances.
